It is known that Getzlaf played in the anaheim ducks jersey on Sunday against the Edmonton Oilers, he scored two goals and finished with four points in the final NHL game before the Olympic break. Unless the high-ankle sprain he suffered acts up again, it guarantees he will play for Team Canada.
Getzlaf had the primary assist on goals by Corey Perry and Scott Niedermayer, then added a pair of third-period goals in the game. He had missed the team’s game on Saturday against the Calgary Flames, and Yzerman said he hoped Getzlaf would play so Team Canada could judge if he would be healthy enough to play in the Olympics.
